Are they markers of life and fertility, or do they represent something more transient, given their arrangement? It is a compelling visual statement. Editor: I hadn’t considered the temporality of the flowers against the permanence of the photograph. Curator: These contrasts highlight the complex meanings embedded in a seemingly simple image.
