Picasso made this Reclining Nude, we don't know exactly when, but what a painting, right? It’s all curves and angles, kind of soft but also sharp. I can imagine Picasso circling around his model, really looking, trying to get it all down at once. Like, how do you capture a body in a painting? He uses these greyish tones mixed with greens and purples, not exactly realistic, but somehow it feels like flesh. And the black lines, they’re so bold, they carve out the shapes, give it that Picasso punch. The way he places those eyes, side by side, it’s like he’s trying to show you everything at once, all the different ways of seeing a person. It's almost like you can feel him working it out as he goes. Painters are always responding to each other, riffing off ideas, pushing things further. It’s not just about what you see, but how you see it, and what you do with it. Painting is like that, it’s never really finished, it just keeps going, changing, always open to new ways of looking.
