Lillian Causey painted this ‘Apron (Detail)’ in watercolor, and it’s just dreamy, isn't it? I can almost see her at work: that flat pink pigment spreading across the paper, staining it like a memory, and then Causey adding delicate, lace-like floral patterns. It’s like she's designing an apron for a garden fairy. I wonder what she was thinking about as she painted these flowing lines and detailed botanicals. Maybe she imagined the gentle sway of plants or the soft touch of fabric. The whole thing feels very light, calm, and airy, not unlike a textile design. The almost symmetrical layout of the plants and flowers shows an understanding of spatial arrangements. It reminds me a bit of Hilma af Klint, only rendered in this beautiful soft pink. These artists create whole worlds of their own. It's like they're all in conversation, bouncing ideas off each other across time. Painting really is a way of expressing yourself, and there's no right or wrong way to do it.
