Curator: Standing before us is Jean-André Getti's "Head of One of Laocoön's Sons, after the Antique," a plaster cast measuring about 44 by 32 centimeters. Editor: There’s a contained anguish in that face, isn’t there? Frozen and classical, yet intensely human. Like a scream trapped in stone. Curator: Precisely! Getti masterfully captures the original sculpture's drama. Note the open mouth and the furrowed brow; classic expressions of pain. Editor: The texture, too – you can almost feel the weight and density of the marble it imitates. It really makes me wonder about the father's agony. Curator: A poignant reminder of mortal suffering, wouldn't you agree? And Getti's work allows us to connect with it across centuries. Editor: Absolutely. This is what makes art so universal, I suppose – echoing through time, revealing our shared humanity, our shared ability to hurt.
