Eduardo Nery made this stained glass window, Colégio do Sagrado Coração de Maria, Lisboa, using light and colour as his raw materials. The process feels so buoyant, almost like watching a rainbow unfurl across a grid. Each pane is a contained moment, yet they all speak to one another. The colours are so vibrant; they almost vibrate against the white background. Look at how the rainbow arcs interact with the geometry of the grid, it's like a dance between order and freedom. There's something really playful about the way the colours bleed and blend, a reminder that even in the most structured frameworks, there's room for spontaneity. It reminds me a little bit of some of Bridget Riley’s early colour works, there’s a similar interest in optics and the way the eye perceives colour relationships. Ultimately, these rainbows resist any single meaning. It’s a conversation, an opening, a question posed in light and colour.
